Many don’t realize that certification is only a portion of what POST is about. Sometimes we can’t wrap our own heads around everything we do! November issue of The POST Dispatch covers main efforts of 2024, including Academy Redesign project, victims assistance services and other important initiatives, as well as plans for 2025. Following our tradition of having something festive in the newsletter around this time, POSTies also share things they enjoy as the seasons change. Read on and get inspired!
Another summer flew by as our team worked hard to provide agencies with the quality training and technical support they need. We had a great time mentoring an intern and getting new POSTies up to speed, and have learned much from this experience. Read about that and other exciting projects in the August issue of The POST Dispatch.
In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which it falls, as National Police Week. Naturally, the main theme of this POST Dispatch issue is honoring the fallen law enforcement officers. Be sure to check page three for a list of memorial events!

There has been a lot going on around recruitment and retention in law enforcement, so we created an additional issue focusing on just that. See The POST Dispatch for April on the Media Center page and be sure to read all about the SMART Grant Program, which can be a fantastic opportunity to bring more officers to your agency! Deadline to apply is April 23, 2024.
