POST-Approved Skills Instructors

Instructors Approved To Teach at POST Academies

The database shared here is only for academy skills instructors in accordance with POST Rule 23, Academy Skills Instructors, and does not include all skills instructors in the state. In addition, POST Rules do not require that an instructor have a current Colorado POST certification in order to teach at a POST-approved academy.

To seek approval for a Full Skills Instructor, please fill out this form and provide it alongside the relevant documentation. The sidebar on the right side of this page has the contact information for the relevant SME liaisons.

Once a skills instructor meets the Rule 23 criteria and is approved, the instructor may teach at any Colorado POST-approved academy. However, Colorado POST does not vet the individual’s skills, nor is there a requirement by POST to attend additional training after the instructor has been approved.
